Thanksgiving trip sturff

There was this really stupid turkey hat that my dad's sister and her family brought to Celo with us when we went. Actually, it's not stupid...it's pretty rad, actually. I don't think I ever found out who it really belonged to!! Some people ended up with it on their heads. So silly!!

New things

Two weeks ago my mom and I took a small trip to Savers just to browse. Of course, I ended up getting a few things! Just 2 tops and a pair of shoes. I wore one of the tops on Monday (I really should have posted...oh well), and I wore the other one and the shoes today. I also should not have worn them both at once! That is a complete no-no for me!! You shouldn't just wear every new thing you buy all at once!! That makes you look poor!

It's not really a 'top'...I just say that to everything worn above the belt, really! Wearing this shade of purple is kind of Easter-y, so you need to pair it with certain shades to make it season-appropriate. I thought of darker colors, which made me instantly think dark dark blue (a very navy color with a bit of a wild one can be VERY stylish). So I took some stripes and it was very good. I thought of a scarf, which I replaced with a necklace, to get a more sophisticated look.

Look at these beauties! They were about $5! I tried them on at the store and could NOT leave without them! With my petite feet it is hard to find nice shoes in my size. So these were really good! It was very rainy today, so it was not a good idea to wear them, especially the first time wearing them. But they were just so cute with the rest of the outfit, and I didn't want to just do plain black flats like I usually do. And now that they're broken in they'll be cozy the next time I do wear them.

Tomorrow, for my 'Building my Future' class, we're taking a field trip to H.B. Fuller to meet with our mentors we've been e-mailing. We have to wear something nice to make a good impression. I try to dress nice every day, so it shouldn't be hard at all. I was thinking of something stylish, but original; comfy, but classy; a bit professional, but not boring. I was planning on something with a scarf...maybe on top of a darker, autumn-y top. I don't wear skirts often, but maybe I'll wear one tomorrow. Hmm. I might post results so stay tuned!

New ;)

So last Thursday evening, my mom and I went out and got me a whole new autumn wardrobe! My closets and drawers were so FULL of summer things and I only had about two or three long-sleeved shirts from last autumn. So I'm well stocked! Today was a bit cool, and I went a bit overboard and wrapped myself in a warm turtleneck to start out the week. But it was pretty chilly inside the school, and it did help. So yay!

Gray and black were the base, and I mixed in a little hot pink for a wild, punk-ish look. It worked out quite nicely and looked very hip!

I don't know if I've shown these shoes on here before! I got them when I went to Kentucky to visit my grandparents. I had been wanting them like crazy for several weeks since I saw them at Target, and I mentioned that to them. On the last week I was there, we all went to Target to look for them. Actually we were planning on going to several in case one of the Targets ran out. But I found them at the first one we visited! So I took them to the checkout and was all ready to pay, but just as I was about to give my cash to the lady, my GrandMary swiped her credit card before I could do it!! 'Pulled a fast one on her,' she said later. I was so surprised and a little confused. They spoil me to death!! So I wore these today because they went so well with the rest of the outfit. Gahhh I love them so!!

It's the first day of October and there are so many leaves everywhere! I really like October; it's where everything cools off, but not too much (usually). And Halloween! Haha.
When my mom and I went shopping I chose a lot of dark brown things. It's a fabulous fall color--especially when you can pair it with something nice (I suggest dark yellow and/or orange). Tomorrow maybe I'll do something brown. But I shouldn't wear all the new things at once (makes you look like you were desperate to get new things because you're poor...hehe). I'll spread everything out somehow.

Happy October!

Spirit Week: Day 4!

Today was 'Class Color' Day. For us, it was teal. Talk about RANDOM! I mean, teal is not a very common color for clothing. I only had one thing: this little short-sleeved drapey thing. You know, those little sweaters with no buttons or zippers or anything. I have a few TURQUOISE things, and they DO NOT go with teal...ohmigosh I'm getting sick at the thought of it...
Anyway, I took that and mixed it with black and white, which go with everything. I thought it might look a little stylish and funky to throw on a belt around the sweater, so I took a big thick one.

Then I paired everything with some silver (a little shinyness never hurt anyone). I dug up my big silver bag for the first time this year and took out some silver flats.

This bag is ALWAYS going to remind me of Yellowstone...it was the bag I took on board and toted it around quite a lot! We went to a bunch of places every day that took up most of the day, so we needed to be well stocked.

I wore black gauchos and white leggings together...a bit strange, but it worked, and it was quite comfortable! It's getting pretty chilly outside, and layers are getting ideal. And this is the first time this year I wore my silver flats (got them at DSW in the clearance section). I've had them since the 9th grade and I love them so!!

So this was really a pretty summery beach-y look; all flowery and baggy and such, but when teal is the class color, there's not much you can do to make it look autumn-y or winter-y. So I thought of it as a 'farewell to summer' look and that did fine.

Day 2 of Spirit Week!

So today, the 2nd day of spirit week, was Superhero or Villain day. I was surprised at how many people actually took part in it. I mean, there were some really creative ensembles! Well, sort of. There were mostly just capes and T-shirts and stuff. But a few people had masks of some sort (one of them being Darth Vader's...but the owner of it was a teacher, lawl), mostly batmen.
I did Catwoman vs. MJ. I have never seen them in a rival war before, but I didn't have any other ideas other than to do a wicked cat eye look and wear lots of black!! I had my glove on, of course. Maybe I should have busted some moves in the commons. But then again, I am SO shy and I can't moonwalk...x)

Sooo simple...no accessories or nothin'! Tomorrow I'll do better.

Tomorrow is Dream Career Day. I have several ideas (marine biologist, videographer, etc.), and none of them really require a special getup. Well, I guess a marine biologist has scuba gear, but I don't have that! I think I used to have a pair of flippers, but I don't know where they went. Oh well. I could tote around a camera if I were going to be a videographer, but then that's just one more thing to carry.

Outfit today...

I have been looking for a time to wear this bracelet and now here it is!!

This was given to me by my Grandmama; she volunteers at One Thousand Villages and got a few bracelets that she never wore :3

The red one closest to my ring was also from One Thousand Villages, but I have worn it several times already (usually with that rose bracelet I have there!)

I paired maroon-purple with a wild red to find it actually worked! A soft autumn look with some edge to it. I wore this scarf with my jeans because they match almost perfectly!

I wore a black tank underneath my top for layers and variety, so I wore my suede boots to match. They look kinda dirty in this picture; that's what I get for walking to school!! ...apologies.

And I RARELY wear belts (even though I've got a handful in my closet), but I decided a little brown would complete the look. So I took out my chestnut leather belt.

It's spirit week for homecoming, and today was College Logo Day. I don't have anything with a logo on it, and even if I did, it would probably wouldn't be very interestingly colored or designed (a majority of the logo clothing I saw today weren't very fascinating). But I looked kinda college-y, I guess, with some color. I guess the closest that would be to a college is one in Ponyville!!! :3

I'm back! :D

I got a new necklace a few days ago and decided to wear it today! Actually...my mom got it for me at Savers. But I really like it!

I was planning on wearing my favorite scarf along with the necklace, but I found that it clashed with the rest of the outfit. :(

I also wore my light gold shoes...I was actually worried these would clash as well! But they seemed to go fine. And they're loose, so I don't get blisters...no socks, yayy! :D

And I took my gold bag for the first time this year...had to dig it up!

And I know that glove is TERRIBLE with the outfit, but I don't have a gold one...I wear single gloves now to honor Michael Jackson...they don't always work with the rest of the outfit!! I have a plain black one, but I left it at my dad's house, and I can't find my backup one at the moment. Oh well.

Some things...

At Ormond Beach on the first day, Miriam (my cousin) bought me and her sundresses. See, over the years there were several times we received matching clothes. The first time was in South Dakota, when I was 5 and she was 4. Our Grandmama got us stripy pink dresses. That was before Fiona was born. Another time was on Christmas and all of us went to Tallahassee to visit Grandmama and Granddaddy. All 3 of us got purple zip-up sweaters. The last other time I remember was the last time we went to Ormond Beach..about 3 or 4 years ago. Miriam and I got matching stripy T-shirts. Anyway. Here we are:

I also found this amazing sundress in a shop window. Sorry for the flash..

New cosmetix & shoes!

Well, two new cosmetics. Lip glossers; I actually already had one in the same brand (the left one).  Got them Saturday along with a pair of fabulous shoes (30% off, wh-hoo!). Kim and Julia and I went square dancing last night and I wore the shoes and Cocoa Fever (the middle one). Although my feet got a bit blistered; I learned my lesson: best to wear socks with flats!! But that's probably a bit obvious; it's not the first time my heels have started getting irritated wearing flats with no socks. But I certainly wasn't dancing all night when I did!!

(Left to Right: ShineSensational Glamorous Guava 25; Cocoa Fever 50; Sparkling Grape 35)

(The shoes...are they lovely or what?? :D)

Look what I gottttttt....

Got these beauty booties last weekend at a little boutique a few miles away called 'Elle'. There was a BIG sale and these were 60% off. $20, baby! Score!!
I'll probably never wear these EVER, but I HAD to get them..how could you not? I'll probably feel like Wanda in 'A Fish Named Wanda' but it's worth it!

New earrings!

Just got a new pair of earrings from my mom and I love them! I'm only wearing one because my dolphin is on my other ear and I don't really want to take it out. But this one is great!

Classified!

I guess--since this is a fashion blog--you're wondering what exactly my style is. I haven't posted a lot of pictures on my site yet, since my Dell isn't the best at importing pics.
I have a tendency to match. Like, really match. If I'm wearing rainbow socks, for example, I'll want to wear every color on the socks for the rest of the outfit. Crazy, I know, but I do dislike normal. I go to school and all I see is jeans, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. I'm so sick of all of it--it's like everyone's trying to be like everyone else. Another thing I dislike is fads. All it tells me is people don't have imagination.
When I was in middle school (actually, not that long ago, even though it seems like it was forever ago), I admit I did try to fit in. But that's a normal thing in middle school--no one has a style yet, and you always want to be noticed. I was also listening to the brainless pop music on the radio station everyone was listening to, and basically just trying to be part of the 'it' crowd. Did it work? No. I was especially shy back then, and everyone got the wrong idea. They thought I was stuck-up and only thought about myself. They didn't realize that I was completely new, in a new town that my mom and my idiot stepdad (well, ex-stepdad now) dragged me to.
But I'm fine now. It's strange, but at my high school there isn't really a 'popular' crowd. There are few people, though, who have their own style, that doesn't include stupidly expensive jeans and Ugg boots (why do people wear those boots?! They're ugly as heck! I guess it keeps feet warm), and I respect them.
But I still have the need to stand out. I wear bright colors and try to have on at least one article of clothing or an accessory with sparkles. I'm all about the bling. Today my friend John said I looked like a techno leopard (yes, my friends are all very weird thinkers). It might have to do with the hot-pink leopard print scarf I was wearing, now that I think of it. Anyway, he said it was because of all the bright colors I was wearing, and I felt honored to finally have my style classified. He said I should have a blog named 'Techno Leopard', actually, and I told him about this one. But now that I think of it, that would be a good title for a blog...

Tiny shoes

Also at the party, my friend Kim had these very small shoes on. Which isn't surprising; she's shorter than me, but she said they were a size 3, and maybe they could fit me. I tried them on..

(They were ultra-stylish! and they went with my leggings)

Easter Bling

Just came back from an awesome Easter party! Here are some interesting get-ups:

(My leggings and socks)
(This girl had more of a dress-up party outfit, but it was very festive!)
(Her mom had a nice flowery number)

Kate Bush

I think Kate Bush is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She has been active singing for almost 40 years, released 10 albums, and won so many awards I can't even count them. I love her style and her outfits in her music videos. I also wish I could pull off long hair like she does; I keep saying I want to grow my hair out, but then I just wind up with split ends and tangled-ness, and have to cut it all off again!

(I'd love to skate to this song of hers some time; it's one of my favorites.)

Easter Mix

Since Easter's coming up I thought I'd go colorful and sparkly! I combined pink, purple, gold, and some other bright colors together. I do wish I had more yellow and green.

(This is my favorite scarf because it's got SPARKLES!!!)
